Corru Gate is a quirky'n cute, rustic-chic semi-detached cottage with a Super-King bedroom, a King/Split King twin bedroom PLUS a mezzanine Queen 'posh loft' low-ceilinged bedroom - a real treat at the top of a vertical solid-as steel ladder. Eco and toasty warm in winter, this iconic and distinctively creative kiwi cottage offers you uniqueness and rustic style with bohemian highlights and arty treasures - even in the sun-drenched courtyard off the deck. As the name suggests, themes of corrugated iron and koru further ensure that this quaint cottage is a cut above the rest. Corru Gate is cottage-sized and is ideal for two couples travelling the country. It works equally as well for families too, especially as it has its own playground nearby with a well used trampoline and a typical as-you-find-it backyard kiwi tree-hut. Corru Gate Cottage has it's own front and back entrances. It is a very private cottage. One side wall is attached to The Gate House, Roger and Adele's farm house, so the cottage is semidetached and the connecting wall is a double wall with soundproofing. Sometimes you might bump into Adele and Roger out the back where you'll find your shared washing machine and woodbin.
Bedrooms and Beds: 1 Super-king bed, 1 Queen, Twin singles
"The Super-king bed in the sunny main bedroom is just amazing!" (Guest comments). Come and try it out for yourselves! The second bedroom has twin single beds and is great for young children as you can make the room quite dark. Then of course there's the Queen bed in the 'Posh loft' - the mezzanine floor with a sloping lowered ceiling - great for older children or agile adults. Adele and Roger can provide something to put over the ladder to stop little ones climbing if you wish. Please check that the mezzanine Queen room is suitable for your group as access is via a vertical steel ladder - such fun!
Views
Corru Gate Cottage has a large picture window with views to a small tree-edged garden. From the sunny deck there are more garden views across a patio area to a flax plantation and hazelnut trees . If you're lucky you'll see tui feeding off the korari (flax flowers) in front of you.
