A message from your hosts, Adele and Roger: 

We live at The Gates Accommodation – a slice of paradise near Māpua, Nelson Tasman.  We share our small 7 acre (2.4ha) farm with sheep, chickens, frogs and many varieties of birds – as well as our occasionally returning adult children! We are Kiwis who’ve lived in the Nelson / Tasman area now for over 30 years and have extensive knowledge of local places and activities that might interest you for your Nelson accommodation. We’ve grown very fond of our slice of coastal, rural paradise, and often remind ourselves how lucky we are to live here.

Roger – “Life in the Nelson Tasman region is great! I moved here from Auckland in 1992 and rediscovered my childhood farm life on our 7 acres. I really value all the great recreational options I have at my fingertips. Choosing between them can be tricky: kayaking or walking; cycling the amazing Great Taste Trail or tramping in one of the National Parks; dining at a local cafe or visiting a winery or art studio; going to the beach or simply relaxing on our farm. I love movies, photography, philosophy, nature and conversation. I am a former teacher, outdoor instructor and sustainability advisor. Travelling overseas for 2 years and living elsewhere in NZ have made me appreciate cosmopolitan life, rural living, and hospitality.”
