Kissing Gate is purely and simply an escape into a magical secret garden world. Hidden behind an iconic kiwi corrugated iron fence and gated entrance, Kissing Gate is a concealed, totally private glade with a wee flax-edged lake. It’s truly magic. This entire spacious glade (nearly 1000 sq m) is all for you! The semi-open air kitchen/lounge/dining area is part of a settler’s style/tramping style cottage with luxurious shower in a posh bathroom and a separate user friendly composting loo. A studio fireplace and infra-red heater keep you toasty warm. The settler styling carries over to the 'Outlander Cabin' with its rough-sawn home-grown timber wall and hints of tartan. The King bed with its luxury linen, pure cotton bedding and electric blanket is simply the best! Available on request is ‘Ruby’, the cute vintage Queen bedroom caravan, sleeping 2-3. The jewel in Kissing Gate’s crown is the claw foot bath on the jetty over the pond. Stargaze and sip your bubbly! Sometimes a chorus of frogs will sing to you as you soak in the instant hot water. Kissing Gate is a large private space, approximately 1000sq m, and has its own gated entrance off a parking area. This awesome secret garden glade and everything in that lies beyond is all just for your and yours. Simply magic!
Bedrooms and Beds: 1 King, 1 extra-long Queen (upon request)
The main bedroom is the quaint settler style cabin with its large King-sized luxurious bed and with large French doors opposite the bed, which open out onto the spacious deck. The second bedroom is an optional extra room available on request, and takes the form of "Ruby', the elegant vintage caravan with an extra long Queen bed across the full 2.4m width of the caravan at one end. There is a separate single bed at the other end of Ruby which you can use to put luggage on, use as a couch or use as another bed if your two extra friends or family members prefer to sleep apart.
Views
Views of the central flax-edged lake are visible throughout the private glade as well as the gently upward sloping farm paddocks to the West. Views across the valley to a couple of other distant semi-rural farmlets hundreds of metres away provide a lovely sense of perspective. From the secluded outdoor bath your views are of the lake beside and below you, the tall flax around the lake and of the picturesque glade as a whole. Looking back at night with the subtly lit cabin, cottage, decks and trees, the view quite honestly takes your breath away!
